“The Village with No Name” Comics
Comics from Input / Output - an anthology of comics we created as the Tenth Floor collective. As part of the publication of the book, we presented it at the comics festival in Angoulême, France 2023. The book is currently being sold in a selection of bookstores and is being submitted to competitions around the world.
I wrote and illustrated a comics about the place where I grew up in the north of the country in the Jezreel Valley, and how it feels to grow up in a small place that no one knows and about the expectations and channeling by society’s invisible hand in such places. when social decrees that cannot be escaped from come in contrast to the unique environment of agriculture and nature. In the valley where I grew up it was always possible to see the migration of birds throughout the year and this is an image I used to describe the linearity of migration and the desire to wander and explore more places and break out of that small place.
Technique: digital illustration combined with manual.
Ballet set design - Swan Lake
Set design and costumes for the ballet Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, inspired by the post-impressionist works of Paul Gauguin. In this project, I focused on the combination of bold colors along with inspiration from Gauguin's style and characterization, combining context and new sets for the Swan Lake ballet — a love story based on a Russian folk tale.
By combining the different worlds and contexts,
I wanted to create a new viewing experience for the all-too-familiar ballet, to create an experience full of color, unique atmosphere and a new point of view for the viewer. Technique: digital illustration.
